I would like to ask if there be a lot of bleeding after repairing of my nasel septum?

Q. I would like to ask if there be a lot of bleeding after repairing of my nasel septum? I have quite a big problem with bleeding and tend to faint quite often when it happens. I need to get something done about my breathing problem though so thought I would just ask your advice and see what your could tell me.,

 

A. You can get significant bleeding following septoplasty (or indeed any nasal surgery) but this is fortunately quite ununsual. The surgeon will usually pack you nose to some degree too and this also helps with bleeding. Remember you would be asleep so there is no need to worry about fainting!!!
